वाराणसी महात्म्य(VARANASI GREATNESS)

अग्नि पुराण के 12 वा अध्याय में कहा गया है कि वाराणसी परम उत्तम तीर्थ है। जो वहां श्री हरि नाम लेते हुए निवास करते हैं ,उन सबको वह भोग और मोक्ष प्रदान करता है। महादेव जी ने पार्वती से उसका महात्मा इस प्रकार बतलाया है ।।

महादेव जी बोले- गौरी इस क्षेत्र को मैंने कभी मुुक्त नहीं किया- सदा ही वहाँ निवास किया है ।इसलिए यह अविमुक्त कहलाता है ।अविमुक्तत-क्षेत्र मेंं किया हुआ जप, तप,होम और दान अक्षय होता है ।पत्थर से दोनों पैर तोड़कर बैठ रहेे ।परंतु काशी कभी ना छोड़े ।हरिश्चंद्र,आम्रातकेश्वर,  जपयेश्वर,श्रीपर्वत,महालय,भृगु,चंडेश्वर,और केदारतीर्थ-

ये आठ अविमुक्त क्षेत्र में परम गोपनीय तीर्थ है। मेरा अविमुक्त-क्षेत्र सब गोपनीयों में भी परम गोपनीय है। वह दो योजन लंबा और आधा योजन चौड़ा है।'वरणा'और 'नासी'(असी)-इन दो नदियों के बीच मे वाराणसीपुरी है।

इसमें स्नान, जप,होम,मृत्यु,देवपूजन, श्राद्ध, दान और निवास जो कुछ होता है,वह सब भोग एवं मोक्ष प्रदान करता है।

The 12th chapter of Agni Purana states that Varanasi is the ultimate pilgrimage. He offers BHOGA and MOKSHA to all those who reside there, taking the name Shri Hari. Mahadev Ji has told Parvati her Mahatma in this way.

Mahadev Ji said - Gauri I have never liberated this area - I have always resided there. That is why it is called free. The chanting, austerity, home and charity done in the free zone is renewable. Breaking both feet from the stone and sitting Stay. But never leave Kashi.

Harishchandra, Amratakeshwar, Japayeshwar, Sriparvat, Mahalaya, Bhrigu, Chandeshwar, and Kedartirtha- It is the ultimate secret pilgrimage in the eight free zones(AVIMUKTA). My free zone(AVIMUKTA) is the most secretive among all secretaries. It is two yojana long and half yojana wide. 'VARUNA' and 'NASI' (Asi) - In between these two rivers is Varanasipuri. In this, bathing, chanting, home, death, devotion, shraddh, donation and abode, everything that is offered, provides enjoyment and salvation.
